Geographical Indications
In case of geographical Indication, it covers goods like natural goods or agriculture goods or prepared in the territory of a country. World Intellectual Property Organization exposes the Geographical indication as a symbol employed on products that have a particular geographical origin or indigenous origin and contains qualities.
It could cover agricultural products, wines, handicrafts, and industrial products. In India, Geographical indications are administered under the Geographical Indications of Goods Act, 1999. Geographical indications are valid for only 10 years and could be renewed periodically in accordance with the provision of the section.
