Introduction
Ebola virus are negative stranded RNA viruses which native to the Filaviridae family and very similar to Marburg Virus or MVD. Ebola virus can transmitted through humans to humans with infected body fluids and can cause acute disease with high mortality rate. Ebola virus outbreak was even unique because of its pathology that has led us to important scientific researches.
Epidemiology
Ebola virus were first noted in 1976 in Sudan, Uganda, Republic of Congo and Gabon. Mostly these outbreaks have occurred in rural regions or semi – urban regions. It indulges the many nations with very high incidence and mortality rate.
Ebola virus disease is recognized to be zoonotic, with transmitted to apes and humans. Humans are infected with Ebola virus through infected dead forest animals or by indirectly contact with infected bats.
Ebola virus disease or EVD has also indirect effects on public health due to its controlling other disease of importance like HIV infections, Malaria etc. RT-PCR is the technique which is used to detect the EVD patients as well as Serology test is also a choice to treat the asymptomatic Ebola virus disease.
